In 2016, the ships operated by V.F. Tanker (part of UCL Holding) have carried 3.5 mln tons of cargo. During the accounting period the average shipping distance was reduced, which resulted in retention of the company’s cargo turnover at the level of 2015 amounting to 4.5 bln t/km.
The structure of the shipping indicators by various directions was as follows in the accounting period: international shipments by sea – 38%, sea-river shipments by inland waterways – 62%.
The nomenclature of the carried cargoes did not experience any significant changes as compared to 2015: 97% of the total volume of shipments were accounted for by petroleum cargoes and 3% by vegetable oils and chemical products. Among petroleum products the greatest specific weight was taken by fuel oil (39%), diesel fuel (20.5%), vacuum gasoil or VGO (14.9%) and liquid bitumen (7.7%).
In the total shipment volume, 65% of the cargo traffic was secured by the river/sea vessels of projects 19614 (year built 2011) and RST27 (year built 2012-2013).
At the same time, the largest amount of financial investments in maintenance was made in 2016 in project 19614 motor ship series. Over RUR 200 mln were spent by the company to implement the scheduled maintenance measures within the framework of the classification survey performed by the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RS) after the initial five years of operation.
During 2016, experts from RS and the Russian River Register performed on the ships operated by V.F. Tanker Ltd. 18 interim and 15 annual scheduled Safety Management System surveys, as well as 252 national port control inspections in the sea ports of Russia, Romania, Bulgaria, Turkey, Spain, Egypt, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Estonia.
A total of over 30 river/sea vessels and more than 20 river ships were used by the company for cargo shipments in 2016.
