Within the period of January – September 2017 the turnover of LLC “Universal Forwarder” (UF, a part of UCL Holding) amounted to13.3 million tons of cargo, which is 9.5% more than in the same period of last year.

The increase of turnover of the company is mainly related to the increased volumes of bulk cargoes by 11.5% up to 8.4 mln tons. The positive dynamics is mainly conditioned by growing export of coal up to 6.5 mln tons (+19.8%) and grain cargoes up to 1.7 mln tons (+8%).

General cargoes also showed the positive dynamics (+4.3%) having amounted up to 4.8 mln tons due to the increased handling of ferrous metals up to 4.5 mln tons (+11.7%). Significant rise in handling of ferrous metals is due to the growing export of metallurgical enterprises.

Due to the market expansion, in the reviewed period there was a 31.5% increase in export of wood pellets – up to 210 thousand tons.

There is also the steady growth trend in export of ferroalloys (+62.3%) up to 94.8 thousand tons.

From all the general cargoes the decline showed only the equipment – down to 12.4 thousand tons and mineral fertilizers – down to 59.5 thousand tons. The negative dynamics is due to cargo redistribution in favor of specialized terminals in Russia and the Baltic states.

From all the bulk cargoes the slight decline showed only the coke nut - down to 34.8 thousand tons which didn’t affect the overall positive dynamics of the company’s turnover.

Export and import shares in the structure of the company’s cargo turnover remained at the same level as in the previous year. Export share reached 99.6 %, import share – 0.4 %.

Total volumes of the sea freight in the reviewed period amounted to 778.5 thousand tons.

Main volume of cargo was handled in ports of Saint – Petersburg, Tuapse, Taganrog, Ust – Luga, Kaliningrad
